Local reader responds to Andy Duncan's letter to the editor. Duck, Andy, Duck!
(Somehow, me thinks this is just the beginning.)

Andy, while you make interesting points, so does Duncan - and evolution, as much a part of the conventional wisdom today as geocentrism was at the turn of the first millennium, remains what it was when Darwin first pubblised the results of his observations - a theory. Nor are creationism (in its broadest sense) and evolution necessarily in conflict. Presumably an all powerful creator could create in dribs and drabs just as easily as He (or She, as the case may be) could create in one day - or six.

An aside, though perhaps relevant. Anthony Flew, the 81 year old British philosopher who has been one of the leading intellectual voices for athiesm for more than fifty years, has recently admitted that the intelligent design manifest in the universe suggests a Creator.

Once you get there - to the fact of creation - the how of creation becomes less critical, at least for those of us who believe that the bible shows the way to go to heaven, and not the way the heavens go.

I think you'll hear more about this too -
