Need lede

Prom dress

Thanks to Patrick and Major for sharing this tidbit from the NY Post. Seems the young prom bound crowd has a new prom look going. For next class, come with a short (skimpy) lede for an attack, praise, humor or any other kind of opinion piece about this dress. I've already used, "Oh. My. God." But that's because I have two girls going to the prom.

My date to Prom didn't wear a bra. I thought that was lude. I'm not having daughters.

Prom is becoming the next "Girls Gone Wild," and the current fashion proves it. Forget about being crowned prom queen - the best honor a girl could receive on prom night is "Most Likely to Pop Out of My Dress."

If you’ve been wondering why your newspapers have been delivered without rubber bands lately, then take note: They actually have been delivered bound by rubber bands, except, your daughter may be using them for her prom dress.

The new style in prom fashion is bad news for the textile industry, but good news for the rubber band industry.

Saturday Night Live fanatic Marcie Smith designed her prom dress based on the red suspenders worn by Chris Katan's SNL character Mr. Peepers.

"I truly admire Mr. Peepers because he's not afraid to be himself," said Smith. "He represents the animal in us all, and I want to unleash my inner-animal at prom this year."

That dress must come with either a complimentary bottle of Strawberry Hill or a Red Roof Inn motel key.

What will her date be wearing? A sequined Speedo? Why do girls wear less for more attention, while boys stay the same? Shame on you, Christina Aguilera. Look what you've started.

Prom is transforming from a formal event into a pajama party. Why not?
